A devotional atmosphere filled the air at D.E.S. Secondary School, Tilak Road, where the Marathi Department (morning and afternoon sections) organized a grand celebration of the Palakhi, Wari, and Ringan procession. The event began with the chanting of Hari Naam (the name of God), followed by a soulful procession accompanied by traditional instruments like Taal, Tabla, and Harmonium, with students singing devotional Abhangas and Bhakti Geet.   

The school’s Principal, Vijaya Joshi, performed a ceremonial puja of Lord Vitthal and Goddess Rukmini, whose idols were placed in the school’s palakhi (palanquin). With loud chants of Sant Dnyaneshwar, Sant Tukaram, and “Ram Krishna Hari”, the palakhi procession was carried through the school premises. Students enthusiastically participated, raising slogans and singing Hari Naam with devotion. The devotional flags held by the students added to the spiritual fervor of the event. Students, along with teachers, sang Abhangas, Bhajans, and devotional songs. They also shared informative insights about the tradition of the Wari.   

Adding to the cultural joy, girls and teachers played traditional Fugdi (folk dance), bringing vibrance and joy to the celebration. The entire Palakhi, Wari, and Ringan event was celebrated with great devotion, enthusiasm, and spiritual energy by all present.
